You're Invited: An Online Seminar at the University of Toronto
Have you ever wanted to be a graduate student at the University of Toronto? Well, now you can... kind of.
On March 12th, I joined the U of Toronto Graduate Seminar in Environment and Health to present a model for planetary health—regenerating rainforests by listening to communities.
You can find a recording at the end of the post, if you'd like.
Big thanks to Professor Ranaivo Rasolofoson for inviting me to speak with your students, and to student Mallory Furlong for moderating.A few of the links I shared in the seminar are here:
- Watch the full series of Planet Protector short films
- Take a one-hour free, online course in how to practice Radical Listening
- Sign up for the Health In Harmony newsletter (scroll to the bottom of the page)
And if that's not enough to tempt you, here's a gorgeous ocelot filmed on a camera trap by Comunidad Embera Alto Playon in Panama. In the seminar, you can learn about how this community is considering a biodiversity crediting program with the organization Savimbo, created by Indigenous wildlife trackers in Colombia, to develop their financial independence in reciprocity for the immense carbon, biodiversity, and human well-being they steward.
Observation by Franklin Fogona in Comunidad Embera Alto Playon, Panamá. Biodiversity program by Jhony López. Identified by Leidy Tatiana Garcés Castaño and Jhony López. |
